Good afternoon River View High School students and parents. This is Mr. Branch, with a couple of announcements

Attention Parents:  We have 65 parents that still need to complete FinalForms.  If you could please make sure that you have looked at your child's FinalForms records and if they are not completed we ask that you take care of that ASAP. Thank you for helping us out. 

Tomorrow is our 1st day in the block day and it will be even periods. Students will only have periods 2, 4, 6, 8 tomorrow and on Thursday will be our odd periods and students will only have periods 1, 3, 5, 7. Students will start with their 2nd period class at 7:30am on Wednesday.  Remember there is no senior incentive on Wednesdays when we are on our block schedule. 

We have a new initiative this year called LIT time that will take place on our modified block days. We are taking a break and unplugging from technology for 15 minutes twice a week and everyone in our building including the adults will be reading. We as a district purchased many different types of books this summer for students to check out.  Students can choose from that list, get a book from the library, or they can bring something from home to read. It does not have to be a book from school, it can be a magazine, newspaper, etc.  We just want our students to read.  

Teen leadership corps is collecting formal wear, so all of our students have an opportunity to attend Homecoming and Prom. If you have any homecoming or prom dresses or dress shirts and ties sitting in your closets that you have been wondering what to do with, you can drop them off to the high school office or there will be drop boxes this week at the girls soccer game and volleyball game on Thursday and the football game on Friday. Student Drop-off in AM:

Reminder of morning drop off for students at RVHS for the 2026-2027 school year. This is the same procedure as in previous years. NO CARS in the bus lane in the morning. (Green on the picture) Car riders get dropped off following the orange line. Please follow the line all the way down towards the football field and back around to State Rt 60. Student drivers follow the yellow line to find a parking spot within student parking.

Student Pick-up in PM:

Students getting picked up at the end of the school day will exit the building towards the big parking lot. Bus riders will exit the back of the building to get on their respective bus. Staff members will help students get on their buses the first couple of days.

Parking Lot during school hours:
Yellow parking spots - Staff only parking
White parking spots - Student Parking
There are no numbers on parking spots anymore. Students will be given more information about obtaining a parking tag during their class meetings this week.

Wednesday August 19th:
Grades 7-9 only will be in attendance No student in grades 10-12 need to attend school.
Thursday August 20th:
All students in grades 7-12 will report for school. No Senior incentive will be given till approval from Mr. Klein and Mr. Branch

Class Meetings:
7th and 8th grade - August 19th - during the day
9th/10th grade - August 20th - during 1st period (Flex Period)
11th grade - August 21st during 1st Period (Flex Period) - full time RVHS juniors, and CCP juniors need to attend this meeting
12th grade - August 28th - 7:30am 1st period (Flex Period) - Full time RVHS seniors, part time Career center seniors, all CCP seniors.

Mr. Branch

The next new staff member for the 2026-2027 school year that we are excited to introduce is Jennifer Ardrey. Mrs. Ardrey will be teaching Work Based Learning and Mentorship. We will miss having Mrs. Ardrey as our full time sub, but very happy to have Mrs. Ardrey transition into this role working with juniors and seniors. We look forward to her having a long career here at RVHS.

The next new staff member for the 2026-2027 school year that we are excited to introduce is Mr. Gannon Unger . Mr. Unger will be teaching within the Social Studies Department. We are very happy to have Mr. Unger transition from In-School placement teacher last year to a full time Social Studies this year. We look forward to him having a long career here at RVHS.
