Attention Parents:
Please if you have not completed your students FinalForms, take a couple of minutes and make sure that those are updated. Students need those forms completed or updated before we will give your student their schedule on August 13th at Open House.
RVHS Open House this year is this Thursday, August 13th from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Schedules will not be available until 5:30pm. FinalForms for your students need to be completed or updated before student schedules will be given out. Come out that evening, walk your students' schedule and meet their teachers, pay student dues, check out the clubs that we have available for students, meet with the Food service department, etc. We will have chromebooks available for parents to get help filling out FinalForms Thursday evening. Any questions about FinalForms please contact Mrs. Tina Allen in the RVHS Main office.
Meet the Team will be on Thursday night August 13th starting with activities for kids at Don Rushing Stadium at 5:30pm and athletic teams in grades 7-12 will be introduced starting at 7:00pm in Don Rushing Stadium. Come out and support all of our student-athletes as they kick off their seasons.
New Modified Block Schedule:
Please see the link about our modified black bell schedule. Students are going to report to school everyday at the same assigned time like in past years. The change for students is what their day looks like between 7:30am - 2:12pm on Wednesday and Thursday. There are many benefits that are going to be highlighted in this email and several follow up emails on why as a district and school we decided to adopt this schedule moving forward.
Why are we making the change to the modified block bell schedule?
This schedule allows our building to meet the needs of all of our students.
This schedule gives students the opportunity to do activities/labs that teachers may not have had time to do in a regular 43 minute classroom.
This schedule allows us to increase the depth of basic Tier 1 knowledge for all students.
This schedule will allow us to have more Response to Intervention time during the school day and allows for more small group targeted Tier 2 and 3 interventions.
200 minutes a week during FLEX
This schedule will allow us to more effectively and efficiently address the Reading Improvement Plans (RIMP’s)
That is all for your announcements, have a great evening and Go Bears!
Mr. Branch
